and it dies. of course I buy the sick fish. wtf. =(
It was announce today via How To Destroy Angels’ twitter that their debut album will be released on July 6th, 2010. There will also be a vinyl, but there is currently no date for when it will be available.
So far, I’ve listened to two of the songs that will be on the CD: The Drowning [which can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon music] and The Space in Between. Personally, I favor The Space in Between, which also has a video which can be watched in HD here on Vimeo. It’s a dark and beautiful song, featuring lots of blood, fire, and hidden meaning. I’ve come to the possible conclusion that the song is actually about the nasty NIN fans who rejected Mariqueen and would not accept her collaboration and marriage to Trent. But who knows! Watch/Listen to it for yourself, and post what you think it’s all about…if anything at all.
P.S. Mariqueen is definitely growing on me… I think I might just be a fan. =)
You can listen to another song, The Believers, in the HTDA store, as well as pre-order the EP and get a free download of the song right now. Or, you can purchase a t-shirt or some stickers and automatically get the pre-order and free song.
Today was MUCH more eventful! We got up a bit late which was nice cause we needed the rest! My aunt made us breakfast and then at 11am we got in the car for a drive to Vista point to see a nice view of San Francisco and then to Muir Woods. We took a walk through the redwoods…it was very beautiful! After our scenic walk we went on our scenic drive to the beach. It was a super windy up and downhill road that gave me a headache but I still enjoyed it. We stopped off for some brunch and I bought a small bottle to put some of the sand in. We walked along the cold and windy beach for a bit, then hopped back in the car for an hour long gorgeous drive back home [even though we both fell asleep for a bit…I guess it was a little too relaxing!]
Once we got back we grabbed our map and headed back out. We grabbed a bus to Japantown. We went to this funky designer toy store, then to the Japan Mall. Almost everything was closed up, since all the shops here close by about 6, but there was still a couple open where I got a few silly gifts for people and a big stuffed Domo doll for me…which I love very much! Hehe. After shopping at the couple stores that were still open, we decided we HAD to come back the next day since the other stores looked so great. We also ate at a restaurant inside which was good and cheap. I got shrimp tempura and CMoore got Eel! And he liked it!
After eating we went to the Kabuki Cinema to see Iron Man 2. The theatre is pricey, but it was very cool. They have nice big comfy seats made up of all recycled material, a snack bar that is not what you would typically find. They had lots of gourmet foods like ice cream and chocolate, MexiCoke and herbal teas. CMoore got a MexiCoke, I got an Indian Spice cup of tea, and we shared a small plastic container of M&M’s, which conveniently fit PERFECTLY in my Domo’s square shaped mouth… which made me love him even more! Hehe. So we sat back, relaxed, only went through 2 or 3 short previews, and watched the movie [which we enjoyed quite a bit, contrary to all its sub-par reviews.]
When the movie was over we headed back.. which was very difficult since it was 12:30am. The public transit out here is not nice at night! We ended up getting home at about 2:30am…we were only about 3 miles away… so we definitely could have walked it in half the time. Oh well!
And so was the end of our fifth fun-filled day. Today.. back to Japantown and probably back to Haight Street!
Well, our day four was definitely the lamest so far… well..really it was the only lame day so far haha. We started out by getting a ferry ticket to Sausalito… had to wait about an hour so we walked around the local market. The ferry ride was cool… pretty views and super intense wind out on the front deck. Once we got there we tried to separate ourselves from the tourists…but we just ended up by a bunch of houses. SO we went back and passed a bunch of souvenir shops and some ice cream places .. a burger place with a long ass line.. and we kept walking. Eventually we stopped at a restaurant. I got a burger that sucked, and CMoore got salmon burrito things that he liked so that was good. We also shared some crab cakes that were pretty good too..so it wasn’t a total flop. After eating we had enough of Sausalito and took a bus back over the Golden Gate and to Market street. We went through a little street fair that had a lot of cheap jewelry and stuff… then we went to Mission.
Mission reminded me a lot of dover.. lots of little markets, corner stores and thrift shops.. and a few random cool record stores and other shops. After that we headed back to North Beach for dinner at a really good italian place called Ideale. I got lasagna and CMoore got a Calzone.. and a 15 dollar beer haha. After that we planned ot go to a comedy show.. but we both passed out and ended up sleeping for like 12 hours.. but damn we needed it!
Today my aunt and uncle are driving us around different surrounding areas of Cali. Yay! Catch ya later!
